Solidary brothers and sisters! It is another year since our last Annual General Meeting. Let us thank God for keeping all of us safe and sound.<br /> The ending year has been a tough one for all of us but let us congratulate ourselves for bearing it through. The country got a new government that has come with labour unfriendly policies. We had a few disciplinary cases involving our members. While the office effectively represented our members in the disciplinary committee meetings, we regret the unfortunately exit of some of our colleagues due to these cases. Please allow me to caution our members that routinely interact with the Management Information System. The rate at which our timetabling and examination coordinators, Chairmen of Departments and Deans of Schools are being accused of altering/falsifying records in the system is alarming.<br /> We also had a by-election in our chapter office following which I ask you to join me in heartily congratulating our chapter secretary who was re-elected back to office. This was a bold decision from the members, electing him after he had been summarily dismissed from the services of Maseno University. A court case challenging his re-election is still ongoing at the ELRC in Kisumu and we hope for a positive outcome.

I stand before you today with a profound sense of pride and gratitude as we gather for our annual general meeting.<br /> It is crucial that we recognize and celebrate our successes while addressing the obstacles that lie before us. This past year has been a remarkable journey marked by both achievements and challenges that have sculpted our union into a stronger and more resilient force.<br /> First and foremost, I am humbled and honored to announce the successful by-election of the Chapter Secretary, where I had the privilege of being re-elected. Together, we shall map a path to a stronger and more united UASU, and this victory is a testament to our commitment to transparent and democratic leadership. I hereby promise to serve you all with dedication and passion.
